Objectives of Canine Dentistry and Oral Surgery • Attendee will be receiving a review of normal canine dental and radiographic anatomy • Attendee will be exposed to abnormal dental radiography to be used day 1 post lecture • Introduction to Periodontology to understand and appreciate all Stages of this Disease and how to treat each • Review of pain management for dental procedures and how to perform regional nerve blocks • Step-by-step review of oral surgical principles to include maxillary canine and maxillary 4th premolar tooth (plus others if time avails) • Hands-on oral surgical lab to perform the above procedures Attention to detail including proper flap presentation, bone removal, proper luxation vs elevation, alveoplasty and surgical closure will be emphasized.
