Day #1 – Saturday, April 6, 2024:

8:00AM – 9:00AM Lecture: Recognition and Treatment Planning of Traumatic Maxillofacial Injuries in Cats

9:00AM – 12 Noon: Participants will have the opportunity to repair a wide variety of maxillofacial traumatic injuries in cats including repairing of caudal mandibular fractures with interosseous wires and maxillary fractures using figure-of-eight wires and interdental composite splints and practice treating temporomandibular joint luxations and fractures of the ramus of the mandible using various maxillomandibular fixation techniques.

12:00 Noon – 1:00PM: Lunch

1PM – 2PM – Lecture: Recognition and Treatment Planning of Traumatic Maxillofacial Injures in Dogs

2PM – 5:00PM: Participants will have the opportunity to repair a wide variety of traumatic injuries in dogs including utilizing interosseous wires, and interdental splints to repair various maxillofacial fractures. Participants will also have the opportunity to practice harvesting bone grafts from canine mandibles and using freeze-dried bone grafts to help improve bone healing.

Day #2 – Sunday, April 7, 2024:

8:00AM – 9:00 Lecture: Recognition and Treatment Planning of Malignant Oral Tumors in Dogs and Cats

9:00 – 12:00 Noon: Participants can elect to perform a wide variety of mandibulectomy and maxillectomy procedures including: a bilateral rostral mandibulectomy, a mandibular rim excision, a unilateral rostral maxillectomy, a total mandibulectomy and/or a caudal maxillectomy.

12:00 Noon – 1:00PM: Lunch

1:00 – 2:00PM Lecture: Management of Maxillofacial Soft Tissue Neoplasms and Injuries in Dogs and Cats.

2PM – 5:00PM:   Participants can elect to perform a wide variety of maxillofacial surgical procedures including tongue amputations for lingual tumors, repair lip avulsions, repair palatal defects and perform axial pattern pedicle flaps for closure of traumatic or surgical oral and maxillofacial soft tissue defects involving the dermis.
